陈建仁于24 日下午南下路竹科学园区，参访园区内具47 年历史的工具机大厂东台精机，此行由杨弘敦部长及相关部会长官等人陪同，主要关注工具机大厂东台在金属切削以及金属积层制造的各项突破，东台集团董事长严瑞雄全程亲自解说接待，严瑞雄董事长于工厂参观产线时向陈建仁呈现东台集团在金属加工领域提供各式解决方案的能量，更提出东台如何配合政府五大创新产业政策之一的智慧机械进行发展布局，陈建仁对于东台精机顺应工具机智慧制造与产业升级转型，针对汽机车、航太、能源等相关产业需求，努力提供终端使用者完整解决方案表示赞赏，且期待东台继续担起工具机产业领头羊角色，不论在金属加工或非金属加工领域，皆能发挥技术能量，继续为台湾产业尽一份心力。
Vice President Chen Chien-jen visited Tongtai to make a comprehensive survey of accomplishments in metal cutting and metal additive manufacturing (3D metal printing) on Sep. 24th, 2016. The chairman of Tongtai, Yen Jui-Hsiung, guided Chen and introduced him to Tongtai’s capacity in metal machining and also Tongtai’s next steps to fit for government’s policies in the domain of intelligent machine during Chen’s visit. Chen appreciated Tongtai’s efforts in the automotive, aerospace, and energy industries and expected Tongtai to keep going and being the leader in Taiwanese machine tools industry.
